Aging, such as skin care treatments Topical retinoids (marketed as Retin-A), alpha-hydroxy acids, vitamin C and coenzyme Q have shown some efficacy as therapy of skin aging. Another cream skin care that has received attention in recent years is Kinerase cream. Kinerase cream is marked as an alternative to prescription retinoids like Retin-A strength for people who can not tolerate Retin-A due to skin irritation and redness. Kinerase is an effective alternative to prescription retinoids like Retin-A?
What is Kinerase and how it might be beneficial to the aging facial skin? The active ingredient in Kinerase is Kinetine, a substance derived from plants that are thought to help slow the natural aging of the plant. Kinetine has also been shown to have antioxidant effects and properties of DNA repair may explain its anti-aging effect on skin cells.
Although the DNA repair and antioxidant properties Kinetine suggested it might be effective in improving the appearance of facial skin aging, studies are needed to demonstrate quantifiable benefits. A study at the University of California at Irvine compared the effects of different concentrations of Kinerase on human skin. Showed that subjects who received Kinerase experienced significant improvements in skin roughness, pigmentation, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Although this study along with anecdotal evidence of the benefits of Kinerase support its potential as a treatment for aging skin care, no double-blind, placebo-controlled study was published in order to conclusively demonstrate its effectiveness aging facial skin. Studies comparing Kinerase prescription strength retinoids are still currently unavailable.
